Tears filled my eyes again
As i drove through the cool, rainy night...
Turned off the radio
Opted for some peace and quiet
Once again your sweet face came to me
Haunting my mind
I thought about your kindness
I thought about your grace
Your love that knows no boundaries
A love I've never encountered anywhere else
So close to my Lord
Just like my Jesus
Then it hit me
You remind me so much of Jesus
Thought about the countless times you gave yourself
Did all the household chores
Woke up early just to bake and cook for us
Carried the heavy luggage all the way Down Under
Just to bring your nieces a wonderful read or two
The tunes of Edelweiss in the back of my mind
I can still hear it
Ever so clearly
Felt just like yesterday
You remind me of my Jesus
Wonder if you could see us
Wonder if you'd recognize us
Wonder if you'd run to embrace us
when we meet in heaven?
Are you walking streets of gold?
Are you having the time of your life?
Without pain and distress...
Always held in our Lord's bosom
Then my soul is at peace
When i think about Jesus holding you
Embracing you, covering you
I'm thankful
You are in good hands
Once again, thank you
For you remind me so much of Jesus
When you walked the earthly ground
till you went up to heaven
You still remind me of my Jesus
Now you are with Him
Your soul is complete
Be at rest, Darling Aunt Lydia
See you at your mansion!
Don't forget to bake us a cake or two!
just like you always do...
=)
